62-year-old swimmer Diana Nyad is at it again, attempting to become the first person to swim across the Florida Straits without a shark cage, from Cuba to the Florida Keys. Nyad has attempted the daunting and dangerous swim before. She started swimming from the northern coast of Cuba on Saturday, accompanied by a support team in boats and kayaks, braving stormy weather, jellyfish and sharks. Nyad, of Los Angeles, Calif., hopes to reach the Florida Keys sometime on Tuesday. Nyad, on this latest attempt, has already contended with jellyfish stings and a storm that blew her off course temporarily. Nyad would set a world record if she safely completes this extreme challenge, and reaches the shores of Florida, home of the Today in America with Terry Bradshaw television program.
