After four days of play, unranked player Reece Lewis (GPI#-) came out the winner at the PartyPoker WPT National London Main Event on Tuesday. ?The event that attracted a total of 218 entrants with ?80,000 awaiting Lewis at the Champion over at the Aspers Casino Westfield.
While big name pros such as Mike McDonald (GPI#30), Ludovic Lacay?(GPI#259), Ana Marquez?(GPI#63), Nicolas Levi?(GPI#328) and even former English football star Teddy Sheringham?(GPI#3038) tried their best to cash at the inaugural World Poker Tour National event in London, only a handful of name players were able to leave London with a little cash in their pockets.
Fourth place finisher Kevin Williams?(GPI#1538) surely had the online twitter rail cheering for him as many pros from the UK sent their best wishes to Williams who would take home ?25,000 for his efforts.
Germany?s Manig Loeser (GPI#130)?and France?s Benjamin Pollak (GPI#888) (pictured) were two of the favourites to make it to final table play when Day 3 play started at the Aspers. ?Unfortunately for both, they suffered back-to-back eliminations in the tournament with Loeser ? who also cashed at EPT London last week ? finished 15th while Pollak exited in 16th position.
Reigning WPT Mazagan Champion Giacomo Fundaro?(GPI#161) also looked good early but was one of the first recognized player to be eliminated once the money bubble burst on Day 3.
The next WPT National Series event takes place just a few short days before the WPT Venice Grand Prix as WPT National Venice kicks off the festivities on Friday, March 22nd at Casino di Venezia with final table play set for next Tuesday on the 26th, one day after the start of the Grand Prix.
WPTN LONDON FINAL TABLE RESULTS (GBP)
Other notable players who cashed in London include: Loeser 15th, Pollak 16th, Brandon Hall?18th, Yann Del Rey 19th, Fundaro 25th, Jack Salter 26th.
FANTASY FOCUS
It was a very rough event for all Fantasy Poker Manager users, that?s for sure! ?Only 438 players earned a minimum of 23 FPM Points at WPTN London with only one FPM Player earning over 100 FPM Points ? a far cry from the over 600 points collected by some at EPT London or the over 450 points earned by a few in the EPT High Rollers event!
That player? ?French poker pro Flavien ?Flav? Guenan who collected 108 FPM Points with his foursome of Pollak, Loeser, Rey and Salter. ?A great performance given the fact that he picked for of the five players eligible for FPM Points in London.
THE PERFECT TEAM
The perfect team for WPT National London would have cost you 248,540 ? that?s less than 71 individual players available on Fantasy Poker Manager ? a bargain! ?This perfect team would have scored just a few FPM Points more than Guenan, who lead the way with 108 points:
15th Manig Loeser (GPI#15) 130,010
16th Benjamin Pollak?(GPI#888) 10,000
19th Yann Del Rey (GPI#22045) 10,000
25th Giacomo Fundaro (GPI#161) 88,530
26th Jack Salter (GPI#704) 10,000
*Perfect team based on 10-player team and 1,000,000 cap
ERIC?S TEAM
It was ugly for sure, but hey, at least I picked the top scorer in Manig Loeser . ?Happy with his performance although I couldn?t help but to expect a better result from him, especially after his strong performance at EPT London just a few days before. ?Fundaro also had a strong showing at the Aspers:
TEAM DANIS (53 FPM Points)
Manuel Bevand: Eliminated on Day 2
Chris Bjorin: Eliminated on Day 2
Lucille Cailly: Eliminated on Day 2
Simon Deadman: Eliminated on Day 2
Mathew Frankland: Eliminated on Day 2
<<< Giacomo Fundaro: Finished 25th, 24 FPM Points
Ludovic Lacay: Eliminated on Day 2
Manig Loeser: Finished 15th, 29 FPM Points?>>>
Ana Marquez: Eliminated on Day 2
Morten Mortensen: Eliminated on Day 2
Marcin Wydrowski: Eliminated on Day 2
