A new four-strong range of quick cook sauces includes; creamy mushroom, honey & mustard, sausage casserole and ham & leek.

Aimed at time-pressured families the sauces create a meal in 20 minutes.

The second line-up in the Best of British range includes four slow cook sauces in chicken casserole, ale & mushroom, cider & mustard and cottage pie variants.

The sauces can be used for traditional oven cooked casseroles and also slow cookers.

The eight new sauces are made with key British ingredients sourced from around the country including Somerset cider and British sourced honey.

The new range launches this month and aims to bring innovation to the traditional cooking sauces market.

The move follows increased consumer interest in buying traditional products made from ingredients with British provenance.

The NPD forms part of wider investment for Crosse & Blackwell which includes the launch of new Best of British soup and canned vegetable ranges in 2012.

Chris Wright, marketing director for Crosse & Blackwell, said:

?We recognised a lack of innovation within the traditional cooking sauces category and with Crosse & Blackwell?s strong British heritage the brand is perfectly positioned to bring this new range of quality products to the market, which tap into consumer demand for British sourced ingredients.

?There is a gap in the market for a traditional cooking sauce range with a strong British message that fits in with different family lifestyles ? from a quick convenient meal in minutes to those who prefer to plan ahead.

?We expect the sauces to perform strongly after positive results in our taste tests and we aim to generate growth in the traditional cooking sauces category by establishing a new quality standard for the market.?

The Crosse & Blackwell cooking sauces are available in 445g jars with an RSP of ?1.89.
