Dr. Edward W. Hook answer. - STDs - MedHelp

Welcome back to the Forum.??If you had questions answered in the past it must have been using a different pseudonym as I see no prior posts under this name.

I'm sorry to hear of your depression and wish you well.??I suspect however that you are worrying more than you need to.??It is quite unlikely that any of the dancers you were in contact with had hepatitis B or HIV and, even if one or two did, there are no instances in which hepatitis B or HIV had been spread in saliva.??Both of these infections are spread among adults only through genital or ano-genital sexual contact or injection of infected material DEEP into tissue.??

1. If the stripper had Hepatitis B and her saliva went in my eye, does this put me at risk?
No, saliva from an infected person in your eye would not put you at risk.

2. This really concerns me. While chatting with the dancer, the dancer was vigorously chewing gum. If the dancer bit her tongue or had bleeding gums, and there was blood in her saliva that went in my eye. Does this put me at risk for Hepatitis B or HIV?
Still no risk.??

3. I had a shaving cut on my upper cheek( size of finger nail) that happened 30 minutes before entering the club . If saliva with blood went in that cut, does this put me at risk for hepatitis B and HIV?
No, a 30 minute old, or for that matter a 3 minute old cut would not be a way for infection to enter your body even if exposed to blood, much less saliva.

4. If the infected sweat, saliva, vaginal fluids or body fluids of someone who is hepatitis B or HIV positive goes in the some of the acne that I have all over my checks and forehead, does this put me at risk ? Does it matter if the acne is fresh or old? or if it is open and bleeding?
No, hepatitis and HIV are not spread by or through acne lesions- open or not.

5.What if infected body fluids go in a shaving cut, does this put me at risk? I know some cuts heal fast, but what if you are diabetic? Does this change anything?
Diabetes would not change things.

6. When a men shaves, there are tiny microscopic cuts that form on the shaved skin. If the infected body fluids go in them, does this put me at risk for Hepatitis B or HIV?:Does being diabetic change this?
No, no, no.??

6. Is it safe to french kiss a stripper who is infected with HIV or Hepatitis B even if I have dry lips or an open cut in mouth and she has too?
No risk, neither HIV nor hepatitis has ever been spread by French kissing, with or without oral sores, dental disease, recent flossing, etc and diabetes does not change this.

My sense from your questions is that the concerns you have spoken of are overly analytic and do not reflect the realities of how HIV or hepatitis B are spread.??I suspect these concerns are a reflection of your state of mind and if you are addressing this with a therapist, would discuss them in that setting.??EWH
