Hudson?s 11-12 baseball All-Stars rout Catskill 15-4

Hudson 15, Catskill 4, 4 innings, mercy rule

HUDSON ? Hudson downed Catskill 15-4 in a four-inning, mercy-rule shortened District 15 Little League 11-12-year-old baseball All-Stars game Thursday, according to an email from Hudson manager Evan Bernockie.

Hudson?s Jeremy Cramer earned the win on the mound, allowing three walks with six strikeouts.

Offensively for Hudson, Jeremy Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a triple and a double, Matt Sweet went 2-for-4, Cramer went 2-for-3 with a home run, double and three runs scored, Steve Bowes went 2-for-2 with a triple and Antonio Fisher went 2-for-3 with a homer and a double.

At the plate for Catskill, Brandon Eacott went 2-for-3 with a home run and Traejin Ivery, Bill Fitzmaurice, Garrett Quinn and Addison Allen each singled.

Both teams continue play in the District 15 tournament Monday, as Hudson plays Saugerties at Northern Columbia at 5:45 p.m. while Catskill plays at Chatham against an opponent to be determined.

9-10 BASEBALL ALL-STARS

Hudson 19, Saugerties 5

HUDSON ? Hudson routed Saugerties 15-5 in a District 15 Little League 9-10-year-old baseball All-Stars game Friday at Hudson, according to an email from Hudson coach Chip Moon.

Hudson advanced to the District 15 championship with the victory.

Hudson pitchers Brian Teator and Lavon Fernandez combined to allow eight hits and four walks with four strikeouts and one hit batter.

At the plate for Hudson, Jaylen Hartfield hit a triple and two singles, Marcel Washington had a double, two singles and three runs scored, Jackson Moon hit a two-run homer and a single, Teator and Bryant Barrientos each had a double and a single, Aidan Doto had two hits with three runs, Terrell Starr added two singles and Matt Cowan and Ben Huston each singled.

Riley Merritt and Ty Gallagher pitched for Saugerties, combining to allow 18 hits and six walks with two Ks.

Gallagher and Chris Swanson each had two singles and Merritt, Randy Dodig, Graeme Knisell and Brandon Numssen each singled.

Hudson plays in the District 15 championship Friday at Saugerties at 5:45 p.m. against an opponent to be determined.

11-12 BASEBALL ALL-STARS

Saugerties 6, Northern Columbia 5

SAUGERTIES ? Evan Normann doubled home Nick Brennan with the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning as Saugerties defeated Northern Columbia 6-5 in a District 15 Little League 11-12-year-old baseball All-Stars game Thursday at Cantine Memorial Complex in Saugerties, according to an email from NCLL?s Tim Ragosta.

Normann?s walkoff hit capped the comeback for Saugerties, as Northern Columbia built a 5-1 lead earlier in the game.

Saugerties? Seth Vanderbeck had a home run and two runs scored and Brennan added an RBI hit to lead the offense.

Andrew Reynolds and Normann shared pitching duties in the victory, combining to walk two and strike out four.

Northern Columbia built a 4-0 lead in the first inning, keyed by Matt Ragosta?s three-run homer that scored Austin McCagg and Josh Hall. George Cox hit a double to drive in Austin Valliere later in the game.

On the mound for Northern Columbia, Nick Shallo started and gave up three runs on six hits with five strikeouts. Reliever George Cox retired one batter before Chad Salazar pitched the final two-plus innings, allowing one walk with three Ks.

The District 15 tournament continues for both teams Monday, as Saugerties plays Hudson at Northern Columbia at 5:45 p.m. while Northern Columbia plays either New Lebanon or Southern Columbia at Chatham.
